Thoughts on Excellence in Leadership

And End to the Beginning

Four Years ago this week, I saw my first clients via telehealth and in person in a rented space at the Psych Atlanta office. Then it was only a couple of people a week in person. Today, I have a full practice, and I want to thank everyone who has helped make this happen.

My wife and parents had nothing but encouragement and support when I decided to stop looking for the next executive job and choose to enter into full time private practice. It was a huge leap of faith. The whole year of 2021, I would look at empty times on my schedule and worry about the future.

I needed some office space to start with. Teletherapy had exploded in 2020, but I knew I wanted someplace to hang my shingle. The Banov’s as Psych Atlanta were gracious in inviting me into their Marietta office one day a week. This has been my office home for the past four years. Now it is time to move on. The exciting growth with Psych Atlanta now presents challenges of space to see patients. So I am leaving my first office this month.

I started seeing people at a new location in Marietta this January, renting from Kurt Youngberg. I was looking to add some days at the start of the year, and Kurt posted he was looking for tenants on a Sunday afternoon. That Monday, I saw the space and agreed to lease an office full time. I knew I did not need it full time, but this seemed too good an opportunity to pass by. This new office is within walking distance of my home. We had a lease signed that week.

God has blessed my choice to build a private practice. The past four years have been amazing in terms of growth, engagement, and energy. I am so happy to be where I am today professionally. I look forward to the future.
